The FITC Amsterdam 2014 Lounge!

FITC Amsterdam 2014 returns for the 7th year, and we’re bringing together some of the most influential names in the digital world. See event details here.

As part of the conference, we have a special presentation room which is only open in the afternoons, and includes free beer for attendees. This room will have cool 30 minute presentations on cutting edge, unique and interesting topics. And we’re looking for presenters!

To submit an idea for the FITC Amsterdam 2014 Lounge:

After submitting an idea, feel free to spread and word and have others vote up your submissions! Everyone receives 10 votes to cast towards the submissions they would most like to see, with a maximum of three votes per submission.

The deadline for submissions and voting is November 29th, 2013 at 23:59pm EST.

NOTES:
• If selected, you will receive a free ticket to the conference, but note that you would need to cover flight/hotel to get to the event if you are not local.
• Online voting will count for 50% of your score, and an internal curating team will weigh in on the other 50%.
• Presentations will be 30 minutes in length, and will have projector, screen, mic and audio.
• Feel free to put in more than one submission if you’d like.

        • Whoa, how did they do that?

          Kim Pimmel is a designer, photographer and film maker inspired by digital generative art, natural patterns and phenomena, and analog visual effects in film.

          Through analog visual effects, code, 3D printing, song writing and photography, Kim creates new worlds that leave you asking 'Whoa, how did they do that?'

          Kim will speak about playfulness and exploration in new mediums, how digital tools can support more analog projects, show some new works, and demo some hands-on analog visual effects techniques.

          Currently a UX designer Microsoft in Seattle, previously at Adobe in San Francisco.

          • Changing the script: Away3D development with Typescript and WebGL

            As the native web standard WebGL matures, more people are looking to native web tools for creating accelerated 3D content in the browser.

            Away3D Typescript is a new library from The Away Foundation that ports the existing AS3-based resource to a Typescript / Javascript codebase with WebGL bindings.

            In this session, we'll look at the necessary steps to get setup for Away3D-Typescript development, and walkthrough a basic 3D game example. You'll be up and coding native browser games in no time!

                Lyric videos are a major trend in music videos and were adopted by many mainstream artists and labels.

                This presentation shows how to create lyric videos in minutes using Lyric.TV online tool and Adobe Flash CC. The tool provides a way to quickly create automated text animations with complete freedom to customize graphics using Adobe Flash IDE.

                Lyric.TV was used on lyric video production for Universal and Warner Music artists.
